I was intrigued to read in Found and Ground how cherry tree gum can be used as a watercolor paint binder. A few months later, in the process of picking pie cherries, I noticed my tree had a few gummy areas that required further inspection. Sure enough, the gum is easy to scrape off and store in a little jar for future paint making.
