Hope Is a Garden
When viewed perpendicular to the paths, the back garden loses all semblance of structure. My preferred aesthetics have changed from neat and orderly rows to plants sprawling exuberantly between the beds. While I appreciate space to walk, or at least jump, to the next harvesting location, I don’t regret the mass of green often in my way. Mid-August is peak garden, and all I need to do is collect the abundance.
