Hope Is a Garden
After a brief lull, the front yard is colorful again, entering its orange + magenta era. The second most noticeable change is the pear tree now with its branches weighted down by rocks and highly-visible laundry line. Clearly I have neglected my pruning duties, but I’m resolved to do better and have made some careful cuts to the apples and pie cherry tree. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the squirrels ate most of the baby pears and single peach. It’s time to pull out my garden planning book and make resolutions for next year, starting with: try neem oil on the peach trees (suggested by a gardening neighbor) so we have a fighting chance of finally tasting one.
