The first flush of edibles from the raised beds consisted of overwintered Red Russian kale, arugula, mustard, and chives, now all going to seed. It may look like a mess, but that's because we aren't used to seeing the full life-cycle of plants lived out in the garden. The flowering arugula in the bottom right will make next spring's earliest greens and protect little lettuces from our already 80+ degree days.
